1. Who We Are

Fundgrain ("we," "us," or "our") operates the portfolio intelligence platform available at fundgrain.com. We provide software tools for venture capital fund managers to track investments, manage LP relationships, and analyze fund performance.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Name and email address when you create an account
• Authentication credentials (passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text)
• OAuth profile data if you sign in with Google or Microsoft (name, email, profile picture)

Fund & Portfolio Data

• Portfolio company information you enter (company names, investment amounts, valuations, ownership percentages)
• LP (Limited Partner) information including names, firm names, commitment amounts, and email addresses
• KPI data submitted by your portfolio companies through the Founder Portal
• Deal pipeline information, notes, and fund settings

Usage Data

• Pages visited and features used within the application
• Browser type, device type, and IP address
• Session duration and interaction patterns

Communications

• Emails you send through the platform (LP updates, founder invites)
• Support requests and feedback you submit to us

3. How We Use Your Information

• Providing the service — storing and displaying your portfolio data, generating reports, sending automated alerts
• AI features — your portfolio data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to power the AI Advisor. We do not use your data to train AI models. See Section 7 for details.
• Email notifications — runway alerts, KPI submission notifications, weekly briefings sent via Resend
• Security — detecting and preventing fraud, unauthorized access, and abuse
• Product improvement — understanding how features are used to improve the platform
• Legal compliance — meeting our obligations under applicable law

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase, a PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+).

We implement row-level security so that each user can only access their own data. Your portfolio data is completely isolated from other Fundgrain users.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or fund data with third parties for commercial purposes.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
• Anthropic — AI processing for the AI Advisor feature (see Section 7)
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery
• Google / Microsoft — OAuth authentication (only if you choose to sign in with these providers)

We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

6. Founder Portal Data

When you invite portfolio company founders to submit KPIs through the Fundgrain Founder Portal, those founders provide data (MRR, burn, runway, headcount, etc.) directly to you as their investor. This data is stored in your Fundgrain account and is subject to the same protections as all other data.

Founders should be made aware that their KPI submissions will be visible to their fund manager(s) on Fundgrain.

7. AI Features & Anthropic

The AI Advisor feature sends your portfolio context (company names, KPIs, LP information, pipeline data) to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS.

Anthropic's API processes this data to generate AI responses but does not use your data to train foundation models. You can review Anthropic's privacy practices at anthropic.com/privacy.

You can disable AI features at any time in Settings → AI Settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and portfolio data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing liam@fundgrain.com.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
• Deletion — request that we delete your data
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to certain processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at liam@fundgrain.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Cookies

Fundgrain uses only essential cookies and browser localStorage necessary for authentication and application functionality. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.

11. Children's Privacy

Fundgrain is designed for professional use by venture capital fund managers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 years of age.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active users by email when material changes are made. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
